To dear Shirley, Jane, Robert and all the family. Its clear that everyone who met this wonderful man, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle or friend, that the over riding thought is that David was a gentleman and genuinely lovely man. This was so apparent yesterday at the beautiful, uplifting celebration of his life.. It really touched me that so many of his carers and friends from his care home were there... David clearly touched many peoples hearts in the relatively short time he and Shirley have been residents. Today I'm left finding myself singing 'always look on the bright side of life' 🥰 Sending healing hugs and lots of love. You gave David the perfect send off yesterday. He would be so proud of you all. Xxx

My dear friend’s lovely dad whom I only met a few times, but over many years. A true gentleman. Always immaculately dressed with a big smile. Thinking of dear Jane’s mum and you all.

From being the father of my best friend, to ‘boss’ when I became a paper boy for you and being late nearly every day, to later in life having to help explain some of your son’s wayward behaviour, you were always the same - calm, dignified, generous and most probably smiling. See you later to say goodbye and rest in peace.

Such beautiful pictures of a gentleman that made huge contributions to so many. He will be missed by everyone who’s life he touched. I will always remember our birthday trip to Las Vegas and the fun he had with us all. Sending much love to all the family .

I had the pleasure of working for David when I was 14 years old in the Uckfield paper shop. He was hugely influential in my teenage working years . He was so supportive and encouraging for which I will always be very grateful . He was a true gentleman.
